Emily Lock is a dealer’s girlfriend. She accidentally exposed a major distribution ring by bragging about her lavish lifestyle on social media. Yep, this is one of those downsides of posting for validation! Despite working as a part-time grocery store employee, where she earned less than $12,000 a year, Lock’s social media portrayed a life of luxury.

5 - The Silly Piggies
Hayley Oats attempted to distract police officers so she could drive away from a bar after a night of drinking. She wanted to do some drunk driving just so she could save a little bit of money endangering people’s lives. Logical! Oats was partying with a male friend at the Grasshopper Too bar in New Jersey, and she was over the legal limit when the time came to leave.

4 - Thirsty For Likes
Speaking of ratting on yourself on social media…an unnamed online shopper bragged about scamming his way into a refund for an order he bought on ASOS, a British online fashion retailer. The Orlando-based shopper ordered a package from the British retailer but claimed it never arrived. He complained to the store about not receiving his items and got his money back.

3 - Skimming Himself
A dumb conman known only as Hamid P. used a 3D printer to create false fronts for ATMs and clone credit and debit cards. But he was caught when he tested them out with his own card. The conman intended to use the fake fronts to clone hundreds of people’s cards in the southern French towns of Nimes and Saint-Ambroix.

2 - Ghost Nurses
Dr. Thauane Nunes Ferreira used fake silicon fingers to trick the hospital scanner into recording the attendance of her coworkers when they weren’t at work. The ‘ghost worker’ scam occurred in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, a town near Sao Paulo, Brazil. Medics at the Office of Mobile Emergency Care need to sign in using their hands to record their attendance on a biometric machine.

1 - “Give Me All Your Money…AND Your Phone Number!”
Armed robber Damien Boyce forced his victim, Amber Beraun, to add him on Facebook, where he asked her out on a date. After robbing her. Beraun returned home after a long day at work at 4am and was grabbing mail from her mailbox when Boyce approached her. He pulled out a weapon from his pocket and demanded she let him into her house.
