Heat Transfer: Conduction, Convection And Radiation | Modes of Heat Transfer | Physics

In this animated lecture, you will learn about: heat transfer, conduction, convection and radiation with examples and certain experiments. After watching this animated video, you will thoroughly learn modes of heat transfer or heat transfer. Also I will teach you different examples of conduction, examples of convection and examples of radiation.

Q: What is heat transfer?
Q: Define heat transfer?
Q: What do you mean by heat transfer?
Q: Explain heat transfer?
Ans: The answer for all the above mentioned questions is only one.
"Heat transfer is defined or the flow of thermal energy or heat energy from hot object to cold object is known as heat transfer."
For example; let consider two objects. They both are touched together. One object is cold while another object is hot. As they both are connected together. Hence, heat energy from hot object flows to cold object. This transferring of heat or therml energy from hot object to cold object is known as heat transfer.

Q: What is conduction of heat?
Q: Define conduction of heat?
Q: Explain conduction of heat witu examples?
Ans. Conduction of heat is defined as the transfer of heat or transfer of thermal or heat energy from hot object to cold object without transferring the materials of the medium.
Usually, conduction occurs between two objects if they are connected to on another or connected. This is because conduction requires medium. Conduction doesn't occur in vaccum.
The example of conduction is when one hot cooking pot is connected to another cold cooking pot. This provide the medium; thus heat transfer occurs.

Q: What is convection of heat?
Q: Define convection of heat?
Q: Explain convection of heat with examples?
Ans: Convection of heat is defined as the transfer of heat or thermal energy due to the bulk motion of fluids from hot region or surface towards cold region or surface is known as convection of heat.
Convection of heat usually occurs in fluids like gases and liquids. Due to convection of heat, hot air or liquid molecules raises up.
The example of convection of heat is placing a hand above fire. The air molecules absorb heat energy from the fire and rise up, because they become less denser. These hot molecules hit your hand and you feel the hotness.

Q: What is radiation of heat?
Q: Define radiation of heat?
Q: Explain radiation of heat transfer with examples?
Ans: Radiation of heat is defined as the transfer of heat or thermal energy from hot objects or hot regions towards cold cold objects or cold regions without any material medium in the form of radiations or in the form of electromagnetic waves is known as radiation of heat.
Remember that radiation of heat doesn't require any material medium or medium like that of conduction and convection. Through the process of radiation of heat, heat or thermal energy is transferred from hot object to cold object without any medium.
The example of radiation of heat is the transferring of heat or thermal energy from the sun to the earth.
