This was filmed in The Mall in London at the two final dress rehearsals for The Queen's Birthday Parade. The scenes are of bands and soldiers from the Guards Division and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment as they march from Wellington Barracks along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade for the ceremony, and returning afterwards to Buckingham Palace.

Also seen are The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.

The colour being trooped in 2019 was of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards.

The Major General's Review took place on 25 May and the Colonel's Review was on 1 June 2009. HRH The Duke of York, Regimental Colonel of the Grenadier Guards took the salute at the latter.

You can see some of the regalia used when a member of the Royal Family is on parade - worn here at the Colonel's Review but not at the Major General's Review. Notable are the magnificent State Dress Uniforms of the Drum Majors and the two (very rare) solid silver kettle drums used by the Mounted Band. The silver drums are shown off by hanging the decorative banner low.
