After checking the surrounding area, we gather fresh bamboo shoots growing near shaded hillsides. Selecting young, tender shoots, we carefully peel and prepare them properly to reduce bitterness and make them ready for cooking.

Back at camp, we also spend time caring for the pigs, ensuring they are fed, sheltered, and healthy. Looking after livestock is an important part of long-term survival, providing stability and food security in a self-reliant lifestyle.
