Sangean SR-35 AM FM Radio Daytime MW

The Sangean SR-35 AM FM portable radio gets a workout on the AM band during the Daytime hours. It has some fantastic pulling power, but when it comes to weak fringe stations, the circuit generates a popping sound that is very annoying. I disabled the LED to see if it was the activation of the tuning indicator causing the interfering sound. It is not. Bummer. Still a great radio for FM and local/semi local AM stations.

Overall, if you want a nice sounding radio on FM music and great reception on AM locals then go for it. I'm keeping this second radio and using it to it's full potential...I just don't plan to AM DX with it.
