A Visit To Gauhati University’s Botanical Garden🌴 | Trekking Route

Types of Plant Species Observed :-
During our visit to the Gauhati University Botanical Garden, we observed many important and beautiful plant species with ecological and economic value.

1. Golden Shower Tree
The Golden Shower tree is known for its bright yellow flowers and ornamental beauty. It helps improve the aesthetic environment and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies.

2. Areca Palm
Areca palms are decorative plants commonly grown in gardens. They help purify the air and improve the greenery of the environment.

3. Coconut Tree
Coconut trees are economically important plants. They provide food, oil, fiber, and shade, and are widely useful in daily life.

4. Teak Tree
Teak is a valuable timber tree known for its strong wood. It plays an important role in forestry and helps maintain ecological balance.

5. Sandalwood Tree
Sandalwood trees are famous for their fragrant wood and medicinal value. They are economically important and require conservation due to their high demand.

6. Burflower Tree
The Burflower tree is an important forest species found in tropical regions. It provides shade and habitat for birds and insects.

7. Tea Plants
We also observed different varieties of tea plants. Tea cultivation is economically important in Assam and contributes greatly to agriculture and employment.

8. Banana Tree
Banana plants are useful fruit plants that provide food and large leaves used for various purposes. They also grow quickly and help maintain greenery.

9. Queen’s Crape Myrtle Flower
This flowering plant is known for its colorful and attractive flowers. It increases the beauty of the botanical garden and supports pollinating insects.
