Multiple Pets Deceased and Rescued from Sweltering Vehicles in Las Vegas

Multiple animals were found inside a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the northwest valley, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
At about 3 p.m., LVMPD responded to the 3100 block of N. Tenaya Way near Cheyenne Avenue after initial reports of a dog locked inside a U-Haul. When officers arrived, they rescued the dog.
Multiple cats were rescued from a second vehicle, which was a red SUV in the same parking lot.
 Through the course of the investigation, officers located seven dogs, small and large breeds, dead in the back of the truck.
Police said the owner of the dogs is in custody.
