Brexit: People celebrate in London, U.K. as hour strikes marking departure from European Union

People in London, U.K. celebrated in the streets at Parliament Square on Friday evening as the clock hit 11 p.m. local time, marking the official departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

Nigel Farage, often known as "Mr Brexit," hosted a Leave party as flag-waving supporters of the departure cheered.

Farage thanked those in attendance for helping achieve something he says he fought for for 27 years.
