It didn't take long for records to fall while the #rowing heats got underway on day 1 of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. 🇫🇷 France broke the Olympic record in heat one before the 🇳🇱 Dutch duo of Melvin Twellar and Stef Broenik broke the fresh record again.

In the women's single sculls rowing, Maike Diekmann made history by becoming Namibia's first-ever Olympic rower. She finished in the third sport and is qualified for the quarter-finals!
