My buddy’s turbo miata severely overheated to the point that the oil thermally broke down, resulting in one of the rod bearings getting rekt so bad that it was completely gone. Bits of it were found on the magnetic drain plug, oil pickup, and undoubtedly in the oil filter (haven't cut it open).
