Over the last few months, I’ve been working on a series of larger platters. This video shows the throwing process for one of them. This particular piece is about as big as I can fit into my small kiln—around 16 inches at the throwing stage. After glaze firing, it will shrink about 10%, so the final piece will end up slightly smaller than the original size.
