3 arrested after massive brawl breaks out at college graduation

What was supposed to be a celebration quickly turned chaotic at a college graduation in Bridgeport. Police say three people were arrested after a massive brawl broke out during CT State Gateway’s graduation ceremony at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater. Video from the scene shows chairs being thrown and people fighting, as the moment spirals out of control. Witnesses describe a chaotic scene, with one saying it looked like “everybody was acting like animals,” throwing objects at each other. Authorities say the fight involved at least two unrelated families. Two of those arrested are facing charges for assaulting a public safety officer.
The ceremony was briefly paused as those involved were removed, then resumed afterward. Community members say they were disappointed by what happened, noting the night was meant to celebrate graduates — not turn violent.
