Fragment from "The Shaughraun" (1907) Starring Florence Lawrence

Based on a play by Dion Boucicault, this was one of Florence Lawrence's earliest starring roles. While it mostly depicts Florence in distant wide shots, you can see a great image of her next to the fisherman by the waterfall at 0:37.

Directed by J. Stuart Blackton for the Vitagraph Company, the complete film showed off some of Florence's impressive horseback riding. Hopefully more footage gets discovered in the future. Who knows what treasures are still out there waiting to be unearthed ...
