Lockwood Streets Agent 1:12 - [Mastered Cut]

This video captures the reaction of GoldenEye 007 speedrunner Lockwood as he is watching his amazing WR on Streets Agent for the first time.

For context, single level speedruns in this game have been ground down and refined over the course of 16+ years. The WR on this level was 1:13, set in 2005 by legendary speedrun pioneer Wouter Jansen, where it sat for many years. Most thought 1:12 was not possible, as the level is mostly pure strafing, and it was believed 1:13 was simply maxed out. This was until August 2012 when top ranked player InkosiDeVinyl miraculously achieved the 1:12, which was immediately considered to be one of the best, if not the very best WR in the game at the time.

Meanwhile, Lockwood, a mid ranked player with a ton of skill who simply hadn't yet put up scores on all the levels, had focused his time more on getting another great WR, Silo Agent 1:01. After 250+ hours of grinding that single level, he finally got it. His work had finally been rewarded, though bittersweet in a sense, having spent so much more time than any other player who had achieved the Silo Agent 1:01.

Cut to Christmas Day 2013. Lockwood, was just going for a stalwart 1:13 on Streets Agent to improve his overall ranking when he hit this miracle run... skipping OVER 1:13 from 1:14 all the way to 1:12. Lockwood was not streaming at the time, but turned it on to share with the world as he watched the run for the first time. The sheer ecstasy of achieving such a grand world record, particularly one which has been so critically acclaimed in the community, simply cannot be described.
