Written ≠ Spoken English (Ticket Language in Tech)

If you pronounce every word clearly in English, you might actually sound less natural.

In real conversations — especially in standups, ticket updates, and quick tech discussions — native speakers heavily link and reduce sounds. This is the difference between written English and spoken English.

In this short video, you’ll hear how native speakers actually say common ticket and task phrases:

• Log it → LAH-giht
• Tag it → TAA-giht
• Bump it up → BUHM-pih-DUHP
• Close it out → KLOH-zih-DOUT

Practicing these reductions will help you sound more natural and fluent when giving updates, writing ticket comments, or speaking in fast-paced technical conversations.

This is part of the Written ≠ Spoken English series focused on real tech workplace language.
