How to assemble IKEA Sektion Kitchen Cabinets like a PRO | The Art of the IKEA Base Cabinet

What's the first thing you’ve got to do before you build IKEA kitchen cabinets? Read a confusing manual for 28 hours to learn how to assemble IKEA kitchen cabinets. Often times, it feels like we spend more time decoding the manual than actually putting together our Ikea products. What does “Fixa” mean? What is a “Flippa”? Who is “Noprando”? I don’t know what any of this means!

Today, I hope to make your life a little easier by taking you step by step through the process and providing a few tips for how to build IKEA base cabinets from start to finish. Because why read the manual, when I’ve done all the hard work for you? Really this video is meant to serve as a visual demonstration of how to put together the shell of these cabinets. Hopefully making your IKEA kitchen cabinet install way smoother.

I won’t be covering the rail assembly on the back, because I’ll be focusing on how to build these cabinets for an IKEA island assembly.

Also, bear in mind this is really part 1/4 of my kitchen remodel series. In this series, I’ll also be teaching you how to paint IKEA cabinets, a full IKEA Kitchen Cabinet install as it pertains to an island assembly and the final video will be a full-on vlog of my $8500 kitchen remodel.

One thing to note: I mentioned this in my tutorial, but the leg design of the Section base cabinet is absolutely terrible. I would recommend driving a screw through the bottom of the plate to connect it to the actual cabinet panel. This will make your cabinet legs super secure.
