How To Not Get RIPPED OFF Buying an Imported JDM Engine. (2JZ VVTI BREAK DOWN)

I recently purchased my first imported 2JZ VVTI engine from Japan. I personally have never imported an engine before, and I wanted to make sure that we received an engine that was worth building.

I disassembled the motor with 2JZ engine builder Keith Johnson from Murica Motorsports who showed me everything I should be looking for to make sure we imported a good quality engine.

The first thing we did was a full external inspection of the 2JZ VVTI. Once everything looked ok externally we continued to do a full disassembly of the engine all the way down to the crank. After inspection we found no serious signs of damage to the 2JZ VVTI engine.

We imported this motor for around 2,000USD, and are pretty happy with the condition. Next step is doing the full 850 Horsepower build!

(PS sorry for the glitches Youtube Bugged out on the Upload) :(
