BARCELONA photo/video montage 🌃🌮💃🏽

The days in Barcelona were really exciting and special. I got to know so many people from all over the world and spent time with some of them exploring the city. Our mixed hostel room was totally international. The first person I spoke to was Meghan from Boston. The two guys I spent my second day with were Bharat from India and Alex from Kazakhstan. Alex already lived in Barcelona for 6 months so he was our guide and showed us around which was really convenient. Then there was also Brandon from California who studies at Berkeley and is currently taking a semester abroad in Paris. We went out together with his friends Anastasia (Los Angeles) and Meghan (Chicago) - who also live in Paris right now - on my third day in Barcelona. The shortest encounter was with Acie from Germany. She joined our room only for one night but we had dinner together at a mexican restaurant and it was really nice to get to know her. Her bed didn't stay empty for long, as Dylan from New York arrived in the evening after Acie left. Just like Brandon, Dylan didn't come straight from the U.S. but is taking a master's program in Paris at the moment, which was a funny coincidence. We instantly got along so well and talked for a long time that night. The next day we spent all day together and hit 40,000 steps by the end of it, which was crazy. Let me tell you this: My feet hurrrt. But it was a really fun day, I enjoyed it very much, also because it was my last one... After we took a break at the hostel in the afternoon, we went out again in the evening, this time joined by Alex. We had dinner at a pasta place and saw many disguised kids because it was the 31 October, Halloween. And to end the day - and also my time in Barcelona - appropriately, we hiked up to a place called Bunkers, from where you have an amazing view all over the city. As Dylan and I had already looked over Barcelona from the other side during the day, it was really nice to also see it by night. Even though it was incredibly exhausting to get up there... After this unique experience, we got back to our room for a quick rest before we made our way back out to get some Churros. I still wanted to try this spanish specialty before leaving the next morning. And also there was a new roommate who made our hostel room even more international. Alvaro from Argentina. I even got to use some of my Spanish skills when talking to him. That last night I didn't get much sleep as my alarm was set for 5 a.m. to get to the airport on time.

I absolutely loved Barcelona, it's such a wonderful city and I really had a great time, primarily thanks to my new friends. Gracias chicos :)
