LG Manoj Sinha Lays Foundation Stone of Akshaya Patra Kitchen in #Katra, Inaugurates New Helipad

#KATRA: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today laid the foundation stone of Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralised kitchen facility in Katra, which, once operational, will provide around 5,000 nutritious meals daily to school children.

The Lieutenant Governor also spoke about future projects of Akshaya Patra in Jammu and Kashmir, including an upcoming kitchen facility in Jammu.

Addressing the gathering, Manoj Sinha stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the government and social organisations to ensure better nutrition and welfare for children.

“We must ensure that school children receive balanced and nourishing meals. Every child deserves access to healthy food and no child should be left behind,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor observed that nutrition and education are closely linked and said a hungry child cannot learn effectively. He said balanced meals help children concentrate better, retain information and participate actively in classrooms.

“When we provide nutritious meals in schools, we are not merely filling stomachs, but shaping the future,” he added.
