Easily Customize Your USB Cable With Chainmail

Today I'm finally going to be showing you how to wrap a USB cable (or any cable/cord) with chainmaille. The weave I'm using is called inverted round, and the links I used are 17 gauge (AWG or SWG) with an internal diameter of 3/16 of an inch. If you can't find 17 gauge wire, you should be safe to use either 18 SWG or 16 AWG. The smaller locking links are made from 20 gauge wire (AWG or SWG) with an ID of 1/8 of an inch.

As for why you would want to wrap your USB cable in maille, this is a nice way to customize your USB cable without having to solder. No need for soldering skills or expensive equipment. Just a couple pairs of pliers and some links. Also, this will give your USB cable a bit of an armor bonus.
