Las Vegas Footage

The Las Vegas Strip is one of the most photographed places in the world. It has been documented daily on film and video ever since it became a tourist destination. Not only has it appeared in countless movies over the years but film crews from all over the world have shot volumes of footage for any number of production. Add to that the endless footage captured by millions of visitors annually and we probably have enough film and tape to reach the moon and back a dozen times.

This video is a compilation of footage from the 1950s through the 80s (from the Las Vegas News Bureau), followed by a lot of footage I shot in the 90s. I end it with a few minutes of aerial footage shot over the growing area out to the northwest, including the Santa Fe when it was about the only thing out there, and Summerlin.

For those who know the names on the marquees, this should stir some memories.
