Iowa History 101: Capitalist Pigs: Pigs, Pork, and Power in America
Join the State Historical Society of Iowa for an online learning series that focuses on the past lives of Iowans to help commemorate the 175th anniversary of Iowa. In this week's webinar, titled Capitalist Pigs: Pigs, Pork, and Power in America, Joe Anderson, professor of history at Mount Royal University and ISU graduate ('05), discussed the place of pigs in the American landscape, diet, and economy. Anderson is the author of “Capitalist Pigs: Pigs, Pork, and Power in America”, which received the Dorothy Schwieder Excellence in Research Award.
