St Regis Maldives Tour - Overwater 1 Bedroom St Regis Suite
Tour one of the biggest and most luxurious overwater suites at the St Regis Maldives from our most recent stay. And check out our 5 insider tips from repeat guests of the hotel below!
1. Bring a pool raft. The hotel charges $50+ for them, and they’re a great way to enjoy the relaxing clear waters of the maldives.
2. Request a direct sea plane in advance. Sometimes the hotel schedules guests on multi-stop sea plane routes that land at multiple destinations before reaching the St Regis. If you’re nervous about the sea plane, let the hotel know and they can help book you on a direct flight to the hotel.
3. Plan for incidental expenses. As a guest, you’re captive on a private island and the hotel can and will charge you whatever they want for food. Be prepared and budget ahead. As elite guests, we usually opt for free breakfast, which is a much better value than the other options provided by the hotel.
4. Avoid December. While December is considered high season, that’s mostly because of the western holidays. In recent years it’s actually been one of the rainier months as you can see from the video - and the most expensive month by far. January-March have much less rain and are the ideal time to visit.
5. Manager’s reception. Drinks typically go for $35+. Once a week the manager usually hosts a reception for guests with free wine. Make sure to attend if you’re invited!
