Xuân này con không về ( I am not coming home this new year) was written by Trinh Lam Ngan in 1969. The song speaks about the feelings of a soldier during the war who couldn’t return for his family reunion over Vietnamese New Year. He wrote a letter to his mother, telling her he couldn’t come back. Even to this day, this song still reflects the emotions of all the Vietnamese living out of the country, including myself.
