Gläns över Sjö o Strand - Xmas song from 1893 - Pekka

From me to you all - A holiday celebration tune, a Swedish Xmas song that I tried to make a bit Progressive and what I really like best is the sound of my bass playing and the guitar. I do hope someone will appreciate it ;) I am a bit divided myself honestly and it is hard to tell and Kapwing does sync some windows wrong, sorry for that. :D

I am atheist myself and I do have a bloody cold as well, so I did try my best to hold the tone as accurate as possible, but I do think it sounds awful myself. Therefor my wounds in my face too. Well we used to sing this one in school every December among other Xmas songs. As Atheist, I do not care if you want me to write Christmas or Xmas but I know many hate when we write Xmas. For me it is Joule.

The lyrics was written by Victor Rydeberg (1891) and the music was made by Alice Tegnér (1893)

Alice illustrations, books and fairy tales and SAGA's, have inspired the whole world for similar stories, illustrations and music. We have her to thank a lot for what we love and make and our imaginary fairy tale world. Simple songs for the children mostly that allowed us to appreciate music.

What about myself? I am classic schooled guitar player and also played Jazz Piano Harmonies with an Jazz pianist and I am mainly a Rock and Prog musician, with classic influences. Fav bands are SAGA, Rush, Yes Marrillion and Pallas, Manfred Man, Police, , Steve Vai, Paganini and stuff like that. I do feel my base instrument must be bass after all. I do think bass when I listen to music first, the beat and the groove.

What instruments are in use? Loads of different brass like Trombone, Horn, Tube, Clarinet, Strings from an analog synth, Old London Piano, Glochens, Bass, guitar, my voice and DRUMS. Alice will turn upside down in her grave if she heard this for sure. All drowned into a cold reverb to make the Xmas feeling, all played by me. Damn I almost get religious listen to this stuff :D
