Ep35: High winds, shipwrecks, ghost towns and minefields along the road to Punta Arenas.

Leaving the Hotel Le Marchand at the crack of dawn I found my bike wouldn't start due to a cold battery - it was 4 below zero. Eventually getting her started, and blessed by brilliant sunshine, the temperature only crawled slightly higher and the wind chill factor made it miserably cold. Among the things seen today were shipwrecks more than a century old, a shrine to San Expedito, a minefield, lava caves, and Estancia San Gregorio, an abandoned livestock port processing town. Final destination after 395kms was Punta Arenas, the southernmost large town on the continent of South America. But not before being bitten by a shaggy dog at some traffic lights!
