Last step in the formation of Sahyadri mountain range is the formation of plateaus. There are three prominent plateaus in western Maharashtra viz. Raireshwar, the place where Chatrapti shivaji maharaj took oath of Swarajya, second plateau is Koleshwar pathar, and the third one is famous hill station surrounded by dense forest area known as Mahabaleshwar.

We started our trek from Jambhali village and ended at Nandgane village. The entire trek route gives us mesmerizing view of 3 plateaus and forts situated in the near by area. One can see Kenjalgad, Rohida, Mandhardevi mountains and Pandavgad fort on one side of Koleshwar pathar. The other side has Kamalgad, mountain range named as Grandam's Tooth (Mhatariche daat) and Kate's point and Mahabaleshwar plateau.

Calm flow of Dhom dam and balkawadi dam divides the view of mountains and add beauty to the nature's creation.
