Metallica - Fixxxer (Instrumental Cover)

Three X's for the stone. The most underrated Metallica song likely ever recorded.

For this, I imported the song itself into the session and tempo mapped the entire song. The source temp map was wrong, and here's a fun fact I discovered: It's likely the band didn't record to a click - the tempo is all over the place. It varied from 128 to 138 BPM. I also edited the source drums a fair amount, and fixed a lot of issued with the midi tracks.

Acoustics with this. Played on a 7 string and used in the chorus's.

Bias FX 2 on almost everything you hear except bass I think.
Guitar tone was built in Bias Amp 2 from a present I previously made.

Metallica didn't use Mark II's in the 90's they used Recs and VH4's, but the Rec didn't sound as good IMO. I did try to work with a Rec on this but it just wasn't working at all.

I re-strung my guitar for this, but ended up re-recording the entire rhythm section again because I was unhappy with the performance the first time around.

Superior Drummer 3 with the Metal Foundry and Made of Metal with the SD3 core for stacks.
Fabfilter and Waves plugins processing.
