CCIV and Lucid Motors Merger...Come On Man...

Its of no surprise to you that today the Lucid Motors and CCIV merger was released last night and from our perspective the only thing that we can say is...come on man.

In all seriousness though, this SPAC deal between the two companies is one that has been highly talked about...some for good reasons, others for worse. The biggest issue is that CCIV stock took a hit when the news broke last night.

Yesterday the stock had been holding firm between $55 - $60 most of the day. When the news was released of the deal being confirmed by Lucid Motors, it dropped +30% and looked even worse in the pre-market for today getting as low as -40%.

It did have its moments of recovery today but the valuation on the company may be what initially scared off investors. Initially the proposed valuation of Lucid Motors was to be around $12B which when the deal broke changed to $24B and then the CEO according to Seth had mentioned that they should actually have a valuation of $60B.

All those numbers aside, this company still needs to show its weight in salt before it can be carrying such a valuation. In this video you'll hear about other car companies out there that have some tangible item to sell and their overall performance and our thoughts on this.

We've talked about CCIV and this deal with Lucid Motors in the past and we haven't waived on our position on it. The company is trying to be Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods without showing they can be Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods...yet.

With the new factory in Arizona, this company has the potential to do 400K cars a year according to reports but its estimated that they could potentially do 30K cars a year to start.

No matter how you look at it this company has a long way to go to prove this valuation that is being tossed around.
