COVID-19 has disrupted virtually every aspect of our day to day lives, including deep disruptions to the food supply chain. When consumers go to the grocery store, they are asking questions about when they might see meat, eggs, and certain kinds of produce on the shelves again. Producers who under normal circumstances are able to sell their products to both restaurants and grocery stores alike are struggling to find places to send all their product – resulting in a persistently high percentage of food wasted in the U.S.
