Civil War Cavalry Fencing 101
Join us for our deeper dive into what competent swordsman would have been taught, had they received any decent training. As we discussed in our previous saber video, most civil war cavalrymen were not taught the basics of saber fighting, let alone enough to advance their skills as a proficient mounted fencer.
In this episode, we borrow the 19th century French manual for some reference since no American saber manual provides enough detail and field application to be useful or effective in combat.
