film grain in photoshop, natural grain made easy

this is my favorite tool in my retouching arsenal. giving my digital images a completely original look, all while mimicking the feel and tactile nature of a film photograph.

when i shoot film it's with either 800 or 3200 film, because i love that amazing 'golfball sized' grain. this technique is going to show you how you get the best quality, and most natural grain in photoshop.

remember to use opacity on your layers to give yourself complete control of the final effect.
