Carbide Motion v5 is Brand New Under the Hood

Carbide Motion 5 is a ground-up rewrite of our CNC control software. Though it's functionally identical, there are some small changes to the layout and substantial changes under the hood that should improve your cutting experience.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, the default GRBL settings that are transmitted by CM have been made less restrictive. Shapeokos will now be able to rapid at 10,000 mm/min, as opposed to 5,000 (~200 IPM). Your cuts should still be under 200 IPM, but for rapid moves it is something to be aware of when you’re working around the machine. When the Shapeoko's repositioning for cuts, or moving to the tool change location, keep your hands clear!

Currently, the gamepad jogging assignments are:
R1/R2 - Jog Increment/Decrement
L1/L2 - Z-Axis Up/Down
D-Pad - X and Y-Axis
