How to Use Data From Other Google Spreadsheets

Greetings, in this Google Sheets tutorial we shall be looking at how to use data from other google spreadsheet documents in a google sheets file. This google sheets tutorial is great if you want to send data from one google sheet to another.

We can use the following formula to pull data from a different google spreadsheet.

=IMPORTRANGE("yourgooglesheeturl", "Sheet1!B2")

The first argument is the url as a string to the google spreadhseet you want to import data from. The second argument is also a string and you are specifying which sheet in the google spreadsheet your value is located and which cell in that sheet is the value located at.

This command also works for referencing a different sheet in your google spreadsheet.

You may be asked to grant access or premission when using this formula for the first time with a google spreadsheet. Also if you update the value you are referencing in the other google spreadsheet, it will update in the cell you referenced it too. The data is synced between the google sheets.

You can also use this formula like any other fomrula so you could multiply the data by 3 or divide it or whatever you want.
