Happy Saturday everybody! This video will cover how to approach IGETC (intersegmental general education transfer curriculum) and how to use it as a tool to stay on track in school and transfer to UC or CSU. The schools that accept this pathway include UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego (UCSD), UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Merced and UC Irvine. This is a great thing to start with if you don't really know which classes you should take in community college, particularly as a transfer because these are the classes that you will need in order to apply. You can grab a copy of the paper at your school or download it from your school's website. Make sure you get a recent version. Assist.org is similar - it's a website that shows you which classes are required for certain majors at certain schools. It is really helpful because it can show you the exact classes for each specific major, community college and university (UC and CSU). This is a great starting point but to be 100% safe always double check on the website of the school that you want to transfer to to get the exact requirements because they do not update assist.org very regularly.
