My first pass on the new ISS crossband voice repeater!

This is a part two to the "The ISS crossband voice repeater is back" video. Activation of the repeater was "first observed at 01:02 UTC on September 2." This is a recording of the 1343 UTC pass over North America. This might have been the first active pass over North America. I made several contacts.

Uplink: 145.99 (PL 67 Hz)
Downlink: 437.80

IMPORTANT: This radio also does APRS digipeating, and even SSTV, so it won’t always be in crossband repeat mode. Check https://amsat.org/status for up to the minute reports on mode.

Example doppler corrected memories with 5 KHz step size:

*all up freqs need 67.0 Hz tone
*Might not need to correct uplink (could use 145.990 for all channels)

The new radio installation is a part of a larger ARISS project called the Interoperable Radio System (IORS) which provides next generation equipment to replace some aging equipment which is as old as the ISS (20 years old):
