A Victim's Story of Domestic Violence in Marriage to a Minister

A former domestic violence victim shares her story of finding freedom physically, emotionally and spiritually from her 30-year abusive marriage to a minister. 1 in 4 women claim to experience domestic abuse in their marriage and dating relationships. That statistic tends to be greater in the church. Domestic violence occurs in many forms--physical, verbal, spiritual, mental, sexual and more. Michele was routinely abused by her husband until one night her life was threatened. Michele tells of the sordid nature of her marriage in an effort to create awareness; changing misconceptions many people hold about victims of domestic violence and helping churches to understand how to come to the aid of victims of domestic abuse in Christian relationships. Her intent is to remove the stigma of abuse and break the silence.
