Ingredients/Instructions
In a pan, roast the moong dal until it turns aromatic. Be careful not to brown it too much.
Wash it properly and Add water to the roasted dal and pressure cook it for 2-3 whistles until soft.
In a separate pan, dissolve jaggery in a little water over low heat. Strain to remove impurities.
Mash the cooked dal slightly and mix it with the jaggery syrup.
Add cardamom powder and mix well
Fry cashews, raisins (I actually not added) and Grated coconut in ghee until golden and add them to the payasam.
Let it cook for sometime in Simmer..
Turn off Stove & Add coconut milk
Do not boil after adding milk to prevent curdling.
Serve it..
Enjoy warm or chilled!
