or maybe i'm looking to break out.

I can't WAIT to get this Koma Field Kit out into the wilderness and make some experimental music for explorers.

Produced, mixed, improvised, and recorded live in my living room Oct 7th, 2022

More details for the curious:

On my Koma Elektronik Field Kit:
- Contact mic sitting underneath the pot picks up audio from the marbles and solenoid which opens up an envelope and gate signal when an adjustable threshold is met.
- Envelope is used to tune the FIeld KIt's internal FM receiver to generate some dynamic static noise based on contact mic signal. This FM static is fed through the crashing wave envelope generated by a Befaco VC ADSR. Careful listeners may even be able to pick out moments in the waves when the envelope tunes past active radio station frequencies as the movement in the pot intensifies.
- Low frequency oscillator controls the rate at which the DC solenoid triggers
- Mixer controls audio level of both the FM static noise and the audio coming from the contact mic.
- Envelope follower's glitchy gate signal is sent up to my eurorack synth and used as the primary clock rate.

On my main eurorack synthesizer:
- Glitchy clock rate steps forward the quantizer which is set to randomly arpeggiate Cmaj7
- 1v/Oct signal from quantizer feeds into mki x es.edu VCO to generate a saw wave that is then fed through a variable delay, a slowly modulating low pass filter then out to the mixer.
- the same 1v/Oct signal is sent in to Plaits in order to keep it synced to the same frequency offset as the arpeggiator steps around. The gate output of the quantizer is also fed into Plaits to trigger each snap/click.
- Glitchy clock is divided to control the much slower rate of the waves so that the rhythm still stays proportionate as the organic timing of the clock shifts around.
