Canada's Housing Market Crisis. Is CMHC facilitating the financialization of the Housing Market?

Canadian housing prices continue to skyrocket. The Government of Canada, through the Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC), is facilitating the financialization of the Canadian housing market. CMHC has lost sight of its mandate to "Make Housing Affordable for Everyone in Canada." Instead they help investors speculate in Canada's Mortgage and Housing market. Canadian wealth is already heavily skewed toward housing, on both an individual and government basis. While there is no answer to the question of "Why" the Government is using CMHC to insure most of the Canadian mortgage market in this short video, the answer seems obvious, they have no choice because Housing has become Too Big To Fail.
