💬 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: Nuclear Energy in Africa Policy

Many African countries are considering nuclear energy in their plans to increase electricity supply while reducing emissions.

As part of the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency and the OECD Development Centre will convene a distinguished panel to lead a discussion on how African governments can benefit from the opportunities and manage the risks associated with this technology.

𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐬 (𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧:
➡️ what is needed for the safe and secure deployment of nuclear energy in the African context
➡️ physical infrastructure needs,
➡️ human resource development,
➡️ and the regulatory frameworks necessary if this technology is to contribute to Africa achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
