San Diego County Women's Detention Facility

This video documents Vanir's efforts as both the project and construction manger's on the San Diego County Women's Detention Facility.The new facility will replace the current Las Colinas Detention Center.

The facility will provide housing, inmate services, and support for the San Diego County female inmate population. In total, the facility will hold 1,216 minimum, medium, and maximum security beds, as well as 32 mental health beds and 22 medical patient beds, which are intended to accommodate array of health care needs.

The 45 acre site with approximately 465,000 SF of building space will also provide for visitation, inmate programs, staff services, inmate receiving and transfer, administration, property storage, and a warehouse. The project’s infrastructure includes a central energy plant, as well as maintenance shops. The Project is fully funded by County funds and an AB900 Jail Financing Grant of $100,000,000.
