Donation To Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims

Last week, we mentioned our plan to support the Megpe community in the Volta Region, affected by the Dam Spillage. We've raised over 102,000 Ghana Cedis, with additional contributions from other Churches of Christ and individual members, totaling over 1 billion old currency. This fund was used to purchase food items for those affected.

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus emphasizes helping those in need. He states that by assisting the least among us, we are serving Him. This aligns with our duty as churches to extend a helping hand with the funds we receive and avoid engaging in business activities. Let's use our resources to support lives and receive God's blessings.

Bro Writena Amponsah and Bro Kwabena Asiakwah share:
We've raised over 100,000 Ghana Cedis, enabling us to purchase 150 bags of 50kg rice for the affected community. Additionally, we've bought 10 bags of rice and mackerel for the local Church of Christ congregation. By helping the community, we also extend our support to our fellow church members.

Despite the severity of the dam spillage, we're grateful that there was no loss of life. We
appreciate the support of Madam Helena, the warehouse manager, who provided excellent
service and assistance in our efforts.

Let's persist in our generosity towards the needy and those impacted. If you haven't contributed yet, kindly participate in aiding the people of Mepe in God's name. Refrain from utilizing church funds for business purposes; rather, let's channel them to preserve lives and perform benevolent deeds. In the tradition of the early Churches of Christ in the Bible, let's glorify God by praising Him and fostering favor with all the people in our nation, for this embodies the true essence of Christianity as it was originally practiced.
