A lecture on social surveys and sampling design for surveys taken from a series on research methods and research design given to masters (graduate) students by Graham R Gibbs at the University of Huddersfield. This is part 1 of two, and examines what is involved in undertaking a social survey, deciding whether to use self-completion (remote) questionnaires or face to face interviews and retrieving and processing the data. Designing questionnaires is dealt with in a separate video.
