Building a cedar strip canoe with my Dad

My Dad and I decided to take on this amazing project in April of 2020 with little more than a book to teach us. It took us a year, we made mistakes and learned a lot, but it was a great experience. Hope you enjoy the process!

We chose the y-stern because we intend to put a small electric motor on it for lake fishing. The lumber is clear (knot free) western red cedar planking, with cherry gunwhales, thwarts, seats, deck, and transom. Some Ash on the inner stems as well.
