GoPro: Walking Tour of Hisaronu, July/August 2020

When we arrived in Hisaronu our hotel had only been opened for 4 days, there was only 8 people including us at the hotel for 5 days. More people did arrive later and the hotel was quite full. The town centre was fairly quiet but got busier during our holiday, some shops, restaurants and bars had only just opened up.
There was hand sanitiser on all tables in restaurants and bars, most checked your temperature before you were seated, all staff did wear face masks. The police were constantly patrolling to make sure precautions against COVID-19 were being followed which was a good sign. When we arrived I would estimate 50% of people were wearing face masks while walking in the street, always in shops. As our holiday went on more people were wearing face masks while walking in the street, some people we met said they had seen the police telling people to wear face masks while walking in the street, although we never saw this.
Overall we felt very safe, we made sure we sanitised our hands regularly, wearing our face masks appropriate.
As usual all the food in every restaurant we visited was fantastic, all good quality and reasonably priced
If you’ve never been to Hisaronu before, the main road through the town centre is closed to traffic in the evening (7pm until 7am) which makes it great for browsing shops and going to the bars and restaurants safely.
We appreciate going abroad on holiday at the moment during the COVID-19 pandemic is not for everyone, we love our holidays and took the view we would have to wear a face mask if we went on holiday in the UK, so we might as well holiday In Turkey where it’s nice and hot
