Lyrics:

The Ballad of Bonnie Jane

A story of the outlaw Bonnie Jane
Grew up in a small town on the plains
By the age of 15, Bonnie she ran away
Left off with some outlaws so they say

They say she shot him dead right in the street
Holding up a stagecoach in Abilene
She went on the run yeah she ran away
Hid out with some outlaws so they say

She killed an officer in Arkansas
When she was trying to escape the law
Oh yeah she stayed on the run running far and wide
Livin the life of an outlaw she did hide

They say she was shot in the back on her way home
She never had a chance for redemption to atone
She died a outlaw with notoriety and fame
Ah yeah her name was Bonnie Jane

A story of the outlaw Bonnie Jane
Grew up in a small town on the plains
By the age of 15 Bonnie she ran away
Left off with some outlaws so they say
