Marvin Bartley's Livingston welcome Danny Rohl's Rangers to Almondvale for Sunday's 3pm Scottish Premiership clash.

Marvin Bartley has backed new attackers Barrie McKay and Joel Nouble to bring fresh impetus to Livingston’s William Hill Premiership survival bid.

Former Hearts winger McKay and striker Nouble, who has returned to the Lions after a stint in China, could be in the squad for Sunday’s visit of Rangers if they prove their fitness after joining as free agents this month.

“They’ll definitely play a huge part for us, that’s the reason we brought them to the football club,” said boss Bartley, whose side languish eight points adrift of second-bottom Kilmarnock.

Danny Rohl declared “there should be no question mark” over his Rangers players’ ability to handle a William Hill Premiership title fight as he challenged them to put themselves in the best position possible by the time the league splits in April.

The Light Blues have six matches before the split, starting with Sunday’s visit to bottom side Livingston, and Rohl wants his team to turn the screw after last weekend’s rousing 4-2 victory over the Jambos.

“After every result we will think, ‘ah, maybe it could be this team, it could be this team’,” said the Gers boss. “I’m totally convinced that it’s now about consistency. Who takes the most points until the split, I think this is also a part of it.

“You have to prepare for the final five games with the next six games. If you do well (before the split), then you have a great opportunity. And in the final five games, I think everything is possible because you have the teams around you.
