In this riding video of the motorcycle journey around the world we ride from the Georgian border with Armenia to the Armenian border with Iran. After riding past so many abandoned Soviet era buildings I was surprised when I rode into the capital in the evening. Yerevan is a super modern city with a beautiful historic centre. Just like in Georgia the focus seems to be on the capital. There I learn about Nagorno Karabakh (Republic of Artsakh), an unrecognized state that liberated itself from Soviet rule in Azerbaijan in the early 90's.

Rode around the many ruins there of towns that were destroyed during that war. On the way out while having a coffee at the cafe before heading to the border police ordered me to come with them. Turns out they were not too happy about my cameras. At the police station I spent at least a couple of hours resisting but the story ended with them deleting all the footage. Exhausted and gutted I got back on the road, wasn't expecting that. I had all the time in the world before that event to store the footage somewhere else. Seemed like such a futile effort because the internet is full of images of the Nagorno ruins. Though they are officially still at war with Azerbaijan and I was very close to the border. Even chilled with some soldiers who got so excited when we were laughing around they fired up the armored vehicle while I was standing on it. So in the end I get it. After it was on south to Iran and soon enough the jagged mountains that separate Persia from Europe began.

My name is Pedro Mota and back in 2014 I left the Netherlands on a beautiful Honda Transalp dualsport motorcycle on a trip to the east end of Russia in Vladivostok. On the way there we would take a big detour through the Middle East, Central Asia and Mongolia. Little did I know back then that this would evolve into a years long motorcycle travel further taking me through Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the American continent.
