The Most Creepy Life Forms Inhabit the Oceans

In the middle of the twentieth century, near the Galapagos Islands, ichthyologists discovered a fish with a horn on its forehead and vibrant red lips with no ability to swim. Instead, it gracefully walks along the sea bottom. Meet red-lipped batfish, whose length does not exceed thirty-five centimeters . It lives in the Pacific Ocean at depths ranging from three to one hundred twenty meters. And that's all we know about it. Today, our knowledge of the oceans and their inhabitants is far less than we know about Mars. Despite intense research, the underwater world remains largely unexplored, with only about five percent thoroughly studied. Now, we're aware of almost thirty-six thousand fish species but nearly four hundred new ones are discovered and added to the existing knowledge every year. Many of these creatures are incredibly challenging to find, let alone classify. It leaves us wondering just how many terrifying monsters are lurking beneath the waves right now.
